IPOS Motorsport IM500 B46/B48 Turbo Upgrade
The IM500 Turbocharger Upgrade for the B46 and B48! This is the perfect turbo upgrade for people who are racers. This turbo is the biggest we offer and the most powerful. The spool on this is noticeably laggier but the top end is very strong. You can run this turbo on stock motor with no issues but you will need to build your engine to max out the turbo. If you are not willing to sacrifice some spool/driveability, we recommend you go with the IM450. Utilizes the OEM intake location and OEM charge pipe location. This is by far the best turbo upgrade on the market for a B4x.

Compressor Housing Options:
These turbos with normal housings are quieter than the stock turbo, We know some people love turbo noises we have the following options to machine the compressor housing to change tone at a small extra cost. Please allow another week of build time if optioned.

I’ll start out with saying that IPOS Motorsports is a wonderful source of aftermarket upgraded parts for the B48/B46/TU. I found this company and turbocharger by word-of-mouth and I have not been let down at all. Their response times are one of none and the IM500 product was carefully crafted and engineered. The packaging was very well thought out and out of the box, I was given everything I’d initially purchased. Swapping the lines wasn’t difficult, but one coolant line I believe to be the coolant feed line had to be tweaked a bit to clear turbo. All of the lines fit perfectly on the car and voided all other surrounding components in the engine bay with nothing touching. Mounting and screwing it in to spec all went smoothly. I had to take off the heat shielding above the turbo because of a collision with the wastegate arm, but I was told it isn’t needed anyways, so no worries. The install took me about a total of 5 hours (this excludes the parting out and in of the intake, charge pipe, downpipe, and oem turbo). I followed the “Vehicular DIY” video that is linked above the reviews. I have a gen 1 engine and his is a gen 2, so some things were a bit different, but that went very well too.
